Phil Keaggy stops by and sits in with David and the Giants

World renown guitarist Phil Keaggy was one of many wonderful musicians to stop by the 2011 Nashville Amp Expo. He hung out in Elevation Boutique's room for a bit and then went on to sit in with David and the Giants for their set.

This year's show was full of great players, great bands and great exhibitors. If you couldn't make it, you really missed out.

Keith Whitley guitar will go on display at this year's Nashville Amp Expo

Keith Whitley died in 1989, but 22 years after his death, fans will get to view one of his prized guitars — a Sigma by Martin model SE-36 from the early 1980s.

Music City Pickers recently purchased the instrument from the family of one of Whitley’s friends, and will have it on display at the Nashville Amp Expo Friday-Sunday at Hyatt Place Hotel in Brentwood. “This is by far the biggest pick yet for Music City Pickers,” said Brady Seals, country singer and president and co-founder of MCP, in a press release.

Music City Pickers plans to auction off the instrument and donate a portion of the guitar’s final sale amount to an alcohol treatment site in Whitley’s honor.
